Thomas Nugent (b.1987) is a visual artist working with lasers, robotics, 3D printing, and mechanical engineering.
His practice orbits around the study of light, sound, and electrical signals, focusing on transient moments of interplay between energy and matter. By creating custom systems that enlarge these fleeting phenomena, he offers audiences a granular view of naturally occurring interactions. Nugent believes these rare displays can shift perception, connecting viewers more deeply with the universe around them.
